Rain Forest

From the archives : a walk along Suicide Creek Trail. The weather this last week leaves no doubt that we

are in the Pacific temperate rainforest ecoregion. Rain, rain and more rain.

Going Up

Past mid-September and we still have tourists checking out our views. These out-of-towners

were going up the trail to Valentine Mountain, to take in the view at the top.

David Lam Falls

With my bum knees it's been some years since I've been able to hit the many hiking trails

in our area, particularly around Duck Lake. Blackwater Creek Trail is one of the

best, with both the David Lam Falls and Kelly Falls. These photos go back to

late winter of 2011.

On The Beach Trail

Even in midwinter it's a great place for a family bike ride.

On The Seawalk

On the Seawalk, looking back from the very end, on the last day of November.

Now, And Then

The Wildwood switchback trail last month, and, below, 8 years ago to the month.

Since the 2008 photo was taken the wood railing has slowly

disintegrated, and there isn't much of it left complete.
Which is a shame.

Crossing McFall Creek
