Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

With the inimitable voice of Edith Piaf, enough to make a man maudlin.
Or is it just the season.

  1. Maple trees are colourful showoffs. :)

  2. The leaves are beautiful and I do like those drooping stems. I lost count of how many times that song went through my mind while taking leaf peeper shots lately. But my mental versions were all in English.

  3. The maples on Goat Island are turning finally. It's one of my favourite times of the year. - Margy
