Rhododendron

The first Rhodo photos of the spring, but with warmer weather coming there will soon be a profusion.
Still my favourite bloom.

More Spring Floral

Crocuses. They've been out here for weeks, but I finally found a clump that was photogenic.

Saturday's Market

Saturday was the end of yet another season for the outdoor Farmer's Market and we'll
mark it with a splash of floral colour, photos taken at Marisa Mastrodonato's
flower bouquet market booth, on the day.

Dahlia

We're back, with the first photo taken in 4 weeks. This Dahlia is one of the few blooms still
to be found in the Townsite's Triangle Garden.
Summer is gone for another year.

Hydrangea

I did say, a few posts back, that I preferred the Lace variety to these full-headed Hydrangeas, but that said,
I have always liked this archive photo. The bloom itself is no great image, adding a birdbath makes it
a whole different photo.
There's some noise in the image, it was taken 8 years ago, in a shady spot, with an ISO640 setting -  the
up-to-date cameras I'm using now would look much, much better, things have really improved
over the 8 years. Unfortunately the bush has been cut back and the birdbath is gone.

Lace Hydrangeas

I've always liked these better than the more common full-headed type.

Lilies

Neighbour Frank, he of the Peonies, also has this lovely Lily in his garden, and as Lilies are also
near the top of my list of favourite blooms, I'm brightening up your monitors today.

Market Bouquets

It's the time of year that fresh cut flowers make their appearance at the Farmer's Market.
These were available  for purchase last Sunday, I'm sure there'll be more today.

Osteospermum

Truthfully, these aren't my favourite bloom, but they were there, and I needed a
shot or two for the blog queue. So here you go.

Roses May Be Red ....

...but I prefer the other colours (not least because I find deep floral red a difficult colour
to get right with my camera).

These were found at the little City rose garden at Joyce Ave and Westview, on Sunday morning.

I do these bushes every spring, can't seem to help myself.

Lupins

Pretty, and very low maintenance, they grow like a weed, in amongst the weeds.

Rhodos # 16 Thru # 20

By this time last year the Rhodo season was nearing the finish line, but as this year the season
was late starting, it's finishing later also. This post I'm cheating just a tad in that the
photo of the white variety was taken on my recent day-trip to the Island, and isn't a local.
(Being local to Powell River is important - I've been living here 40+ years,
and I'm still not considered a local by the locals!)

Rhodos # 12 Thru # 15

Continuing the project to photograph as many shades of colour as possible of my favourite bloom.

Peony

By this point this spring a repeat visitor here will have realized that I do a good bit of floral
photography. This absolutely gorgeous Peony is in my green-thumbed neighbour's
garden. So he gets the credit, I just take the photo.

Red Poppy

A close-up of a beautiful Red Poppy, taken with a macro lens.
