Saturday's Market

Saturday was the end of yet another season for the outdoor Farmer's Market and we'll

mark it with a splash of floral colour, photos taken at Marisa Mastrodonato's

flower bouquet market booth, on the day.

Looking Back

As the weather isn't cooperating I've dug into the archives.

Take Two For Take Five

I featured these performers of the jazz quintet Take Five this past May, when they played

at the Market. They played there again Monday evening for the special holiday opening.

It should be noted the group won a gold medal at MusicFest Canada at Niagara Falls this past

spring. They were definitely worth a repeat listen, and as my camera goes where I go,

they get a repeat post here.

A very busy day at the Farmer's Market yesterday.

Canada Day At The Market

Canada Day entertainment at the Farmer's Market was provided by the Blues Busters,

led by Ron Campbell (guitar, vocals), a group well-known locally.

Dennis Fox (bass, vocals), above, and Ted Durin (keys, sax, vocals), below.

The last member of the group, Neko (drums), was hiding behind his drum set at the

back and in the dark, no photo. Sorry Neko.

I've never ever said I was a blues fan, but these guys I enjoyed, they put on a good show.

Needlwork

The knitting appears to be well done,  but the display is a little "different"!

Market Bouquets

It's the time of year that fresh cut flowers make their appearance at the Farmer's Market.

These were available  for purchase last Sunday, I'm sure there'll be more today.

The Engineer

Of the Paradise Valley Railroad. Rides for the Dad's were free on Father's Day Sunday, 

but with the cool damp weather there wasn't a huge turnout at the Farmer's Market, and by

the time I'd left I hadn't seen many takers.

And yes, we'll keep off the track!

Sticky Buns

Lots of fine looking baked goods at the Farmer's Market yesterday, at several different stalls.

Some of it moved very quickly ...

...and I went home with some sticky buns.

suspects provided the entertainment, with Len Menard and his guitar among them.
