May and June are the months of the Spot Prawn fishery, and fresh prawns are usually available for
purchase right off the boat at the Westview wharf. These archive photos show the crew of the
Whiskey Point packing their catch into boxes for export to Japan, which is
where most of the local catch ends up.
There should be a feed of fresh prawns in my future fairly soon, something to look forward to.
