On The Rock - The Quarry
A trip to The Rock, ie: Texada Island, 2 weeks ago, with a photo stop
at the quarry, also know as Heisholt Lake. A very pretty spot, worth a few photos,
and peaceful if you go early and avoid the other day-trippers
from Powell River.

Cockatoo
One from the archives.
One day in June 2015, coming off the Seawalk at the Westview
ferry terminal, I spotted this bird, doing what tourists and locals alike
do while waiting in a ferry line-up on a warm day - strolling
about and catching some sun.
He's an 18-year old Moluccan Cockatoo,
and a nice catch for my camera.

Beach Access - Armour Road
The Regional District has made available more than fifteen
beach access points
along Highway 101 and the side roads leading from it. This is one, the beach
at the bottom of Armour Road, though even after well over 40 years
of coastal living, I still have a hard time with what passes for a
"beach" in this area.

Black Bear
Coho salmon start appearing at Lang Creek in small numbers by
the end of August, and as their numbers increase into September, Black
Bears also appear. These photos were taken at the Creek last year. With a long lens.
I was there a week ago, the bears weren't, yet.
